Cringe, Fragments

An MSc in what?

I completed an MSc in Security Studies in August 2013. Upon telling people this I inevitably get one of three responses.

“Is it something to do with computing?”

The improbable but understandable, “Are you training to be a bouncer?”

Or, in more hushed tones, “Are you going to be a secret agent?”

Whilst it is nether necessary nor sufficient for the latter it’s the closest of the three, with the motivations and machinations of those involved in this world explored in the context of eighteenth century events in Cringe.

For a more contemporary consideration of the type of issues that are considered as part of the security studies curricula I could do worse, and less self-servingly, than to refer you to my first piece of published journalism:  http://thebigsmoke.com.au/2014/09/30/civil-liberties-mr-abbott-freedom-security/
